Camaro Z-28

My brother has a Z-28 Camaro that is his pride and joy, so for his birthday I made this card for him.  I hope he likes it.

Veggies for Dee

My sister had four prints in her kitchen which had gradually faded over the years.  I copied them as faithfully as I could, guessing a little about what the colors had originally been.  Images are 6x6 oil on canvas, double matted to an 8x10 frame.

seascape

Kind of a study for a larger piece I am considering.  The sky looks more lavender in this photo than in real life for some reason--maybe I need to invest in Photoshop?

Daffodils for Marj

We have been pleasantly surprised to see how many daffodils we have coming up in our "new" (very old) house.  This is a card I made for my mother, who will be turning 92 next month.

Figure drawing practice

I been trying to improve my drawing abilities, and one thing you often read is that the best way to do this is by drawing the human figure.  My wife thinks it's because enjoy looking at nubile naked women, but the fact of the matter is that drawing the figure forces you to improve like nothing else, because if it's a little off then the whole thing sucks.  It just so happens that most of the models who are willing to take their clothes off and have a picture taken are of the nubile persuasion.  If your tree doesn't look much like the tree you are trying to draw, it still looks passably like a tree and no one is the wiser.  I've signed up for an online series called "Life of Drawing" and so far have been pleased with my progress.
