Beetle bug

Did this quickly last night from a photo I cut out of a magazine long ago.  Trying to focus on values and using as few strokes as possible, which is much harder than is sounds or looks on YouTube..

Poppies, pleasing to the eye...

I believe it was the wicked witch of the west who said "Poppies.......pleasing to the eye...".  This is loosely based on a picture I saw on the wall of our rental house in Tybee Island this summer.

Two different calla lillies that I did for my sister's birthday--i decided to send her the one on the left.  6x6 and 5x10 inches.

Tomato and pepper

It's tomato season here in Nebraska with buckets of them coming in from everyone with a garden.  I paid 35 cents for a jalepeno at the Farmers Market and put them on the window ledge in my kitchen to pose.  It ended up looking a little over worked in my opinion, a symptom of being too busy with other things this summer (like tending the yard and garden...).
